The weekend we've been looking forward to all year is finally here: we're loading up the van and wending our way to Newcastle for the Maker Faire UK 2016, the greatest show and tell on Earth.
We've already waxed lyrical about the event this week, but our excitement just can't be contained. Anyone who remembers last year's pyramid of goodness will be aware of how seriously we take attendance, and we're not alone: the list of makers is long and illustrious, covering topics as diverse as gaming and artificial intelligence to music and craft.
There'll be appearances from some of our old friends - including Sheffield Hardware Hackers & Makers, York Hackspace, Leeds Hackspace, and the chaps from Noisy Toys - and plenty of new, like-minded people to meet. We're also taking along resident wordsmith Gareth Halfacree, who will be documenting the event and interviewing parties of interest across the weekend.
If you don't have your tickets yet, sort that out - and if you do, we'll see you there!
