Every project requires at least three resistors (it is one of those unwritten rules). This seems like an un-taxing requirement, however around .:oomlout:. hq it is one that often proves difficult. With thousands of resistors in dozens of different values spread between drawers, boxes and piles it can become infuriating. Our attempted solution? A quad fold card with 20 different resistance values (25 of each value) (500 resistors total) nicely organized and ready to be deployed in your next project. The love for Twitter around the .:oomlout:. office is undeniable. We check it constantly, and as those of you who follow us know post to it far too often (or if you don't follow us we're @oomlout :) ). We thought it appropriate to allow Twitter to be more than just an on monitor phenomena. To accomplish this we have combined an Arduino, Ethernet Shield and typewriter. We've been working on this one for a long time. Its designed to be a fun, non school like introduction to Arduino and microcontroller programming. It contains an Arduino a breadboard and a load of fun components (LEDS, a motor, a servo, a breadboard, jumper wires, temperature sensor, light sensor and more). Saturday found us in Liverpool hanging out with 30+ (venue limitation) artists, programmers, makers, students, and generally cool people. We were all gathered for the first Howduino event (a day devoted to enlarging the "Internet of Things", and co-opted by makers at large). The Fun Stuff Many people brought projects to work on. Us? We're off to Howduino in Liverpool, its going to be a fun filled, free, day of physical computing and old school hacking. Although it is free sadly the space in the venue is limited so all the spaces are filled. But fear not, if the grape vine is to be trusted there may be future repeats in Liverpool, and perhaps further afield as well.
