It's rapidly approaching time for one of our favourite annual road-trips: the Maker Faire UK 2016 is this weekend at the Live Science Centre, Newcastle, and we're struggling to contain our excitement.
If you've never attended a Maker Faire before, you're in for a treat. Billed as "the greatest show and tell on Earth," Maker Faires bring together everyone from professional makers building giant-sized devices to complete neophytes eager to immerse themselves in maker culture. There are workshops for everything from virtual reality to taxidermy, and a chance to see what your fellow makers are up to - and what they've brought along to show off.
We're going to be exhibiting over the weekend, and we're also bringing our tame journalist Gareth Halfacree along for the ride to document the experience. If you're attending, find us at Stand C27 for a chat - and if you're got an exciting project on the go you'd like to share, drop Gareth a line to let him know you're up for an interview.
If you don't have your tickets yet, don't panic - it's not too late; just head over to the official website to pick up your tickets, and don't forget that if you have an annual pass to the Life Science Centre you can get 25 per cent off.
